I didn't intentionally buy the 64 bit version instead of the 32. I didn't even know there were options. In fact, I really wanted to stick with the XP that had been working fine for the past 6 or 7 years. But that was no longer an option. Hell, I had a hard time finding anything that didn't have Windows 8 loaded. Unfortunately, I can't report back since I don't really understand most of the suggestions that you made. The only thing I need Acrobat for is to print to PDF. I don't recall ever using any other features of the program. When I got the new computer earlier this year and encountered the problem as described, Adobe gave me the link to download Acrobat Pro 8 and it worked fine. Unfortunately, the OS crashed and I have had to reinstall everything and Pro 8 is no longer available in the link. Sorry that I can't be more responsive. I am not all that adept at this stuff.
