I'm new to Illustrator, and after watching a few tutorials online have decided to start by rearranging my workspace to fit my needs. However I'm having a slight problem with the left hand most toolbar, the one that contains things like the "eraser" and "brush" and "zoom tool" etc etc. The window seems perfectly thing until I collapse it into one line (the icons appear to be set across two lines by default), when I try to collapse this toolbar into one line, I lose quite a large portion of the bottom of it. The lowest icon available is the "artboard tool", so I end up losing the "hand", "zoom", and all the other quite important information and tools below that. Quite the same problem is happening on the other side of the screen with all the "windows", I can never seem to have more than 4/5 open at a time before they start automatically shrinking and hiding the information at a first glance from me, which is strange because I've watched an online video tutorial which shows the Developer having 5 windows open to the side of the screen at a time and Illustrator seems to show all the information at once with no re-sizing. But the first issue is more important I feel.
I've tried pressing F to change the screen mode and although it shows a bit more of the screen its still no where near enough to show be all the information on the left toolbar, I've also tried right clicking the window and trying to change things with the UI but to no avail. I'm basically just wanting to know how to actually shrink the windows and toolbar icons without cropping the windows themselves as that makes all the text and information bulk up into a mess.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
