How can i get the actual size on illustrator to actually match real life inches?

HI there,

On Indesign it appears that the actual size view is, in fact, in real inches.  However, in Illustrator, when I click on the actual size under view, the measurement is actually smaller than real size inches.  How can I get my actual size view to match real life inches, like in InDesign?
